Alice volunteers at A Way Out to gain an insight into her future career prospects.

I initially applied to A Way Out after graduating from university to explore different career paths. My aim was to gain an insight into the working environment I had previously shown an interest in throughout my degree, and ultimately decide if I would like to pursue a career in this field.

I attend and support Blossom Project outreach drop-in sessions. These sessions allow local young girls aged 16-24 who are considered vulnerable or at risk to socialise and learn healthy lifestyle skills in a safe, welcoming environment. Throughout the past year, I have established valuable relationships and engaged with both service users and staff, which is hugely fulfilling. This has allowed me to greatly develop my skills, knowledge and experience.

Through this process, I have realised that a career in a support/project work environment is something I wish to pursue in the future.
