Red Balloons is a lived experience Charity based in Stockton on Tees. Everyone involved with the Charity has lived experience of poor mental health and uses that to support people with their mental health. All of our services are based around peer support and where we can, we encourage people to use physical activity to improve their mental and physical wellbeing.
We offer Walk and Talk groups 7 days per week around Tees Valley, 1-1 support via walk and talk, telephone and zoom, a messaging service from 7am-7pm, 7 days per week, a private online Wellbeing Group, Ramblers hiking project, a Women’s Peer Support Group, Men’s Peer Support Groups and an Arts and Crafts Drop-in. We co-host Lived Experience Forums in Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar and Cleveland and host Tees Valley Peer Support Network.
In 2024 we supported 385 individuals with their mental health with a total of 3007 attendees at groups. Our only criteria is that people are over 18 and need support with their mental health. We don’t discharge people from our services, they can continue to use them for as long as they want/need to. Most of our services are drop-ins and we don’t do formal assessments. We have services available for people to access immediately.
