The Warm Welcome Social Sessions are providing a friendly, safe space for adults to come together to socialise, play cards and dominoes and take part in lots of different activities from crafting to quizzing. Since the sessions launched in mid May 2023, we have engaged with over 400 people who are isolated or lonely. Thornaby Community Partnership have identified the lack of social provision across Thornaby and launched the Warm Welcome Social Sessions in response to this.

The social sessions are simply a place for people to come together face to face to feel connected and socialise. Through several activities, we are also keeping people’s minds active, teaching them new skills and giving them a sense of belonging.
