Description
The Mela takes place in Albert Park next weekend and it’s going to be brilliant – a real cultural celebration to a very diverse public.
We’ll need volunteers any time between 12.00 on Friday 6 September and about 8pm on Sunday 8 September. On Friday the roles will be all about setting up the stalls, and getting the park ready for a big public event. There will be a lot of tasks like putting out traffic cones and pinning signage up. On Sunday evening it will be the reverse, taking everything down ready for collection the next day. While the event is in progress on Saturday and Sunday there will be roles to help people find the attractions that might be of interest to them, probably helping out people with disabilities, and also a children’s play area. There will also be a constant litter-picking operation. Any help with any of this would be very much appreciated.
