For 40 years, Butterwick Hospice has supported local people and communities across our regions of Teesside and County Durham. We provide holistic care for children and adults living with a life-limiting illness, as well as support for their families and loved ones. We believe in embracing life’s journey with compassion and care and aim to make every day the best it can be for each of our patients and their loved ones.
If you have some spare time – why not volunteer to help us with our Reception function at our Stockton hospice, and do something amazing?
Reception – Butterwick Hospice, Middlefield Road, Stockton, TS19 8XN
Role summary:
Our reception volunteers are often the first point of contact with the Hospice and it is important that we provide a warm welcome to all our patients, families and visitors and currently need help MONDAY AFTERNOONS (1pm to 5pm) and THURSDAY MORNINGS (9am-1pm.)
We are also trying to bolster our reception cover by recruiting a small reserve of additional volunteers, that we can call on to help covering holidays and sickness, taking into account that not everyone is available all of the time/at short notice.
We are looking for people that are of a friendly nature, compassionate, organised, and can answer, re-direct telephone calls and greet visitors to the Hospice in a professional manner, taking due regard of the sensitive and confidential nature of information or situations that may arise.
The reception desk operates Monday to Friday with 2 shifts per day shifts are 9am-1pm and 1pm to 4pm.
