Volunteer kitchen porter

Teesside Hospice is looking for volunteers to assist Northgate Tea Room in providing a welcoming and pleasant environment for customers. This role requires someone with good cleaning skills and a pleasant approach to customer service.

Expectations

  • To attend any training provided by the hospice in order to support the role
  • To wear ID badge whilst undertaking your volunteering at all times
  • To adhere to Teesside Hospice policies and procedures
  • To work harmoniously with colleagues and other volunteers
  • To inform manager with advance notice if you are unable to attend the agreed shift

Required Skills

  • To wash pots and keep pot wash area clean and tidy
  • General cleaning duties
  • To ensure the tables and surrounding area are clean and tidy
  • To load and unload a dishwasher
  • To provide a prompt, pleasant and courteous service
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules
  • Ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment

The hours of this role are 11am – 2pm on Mondays, Tuesdays or Friday. We are preferably looking for someone who is able to volunteer for one day (3 hours) per week but we welcome any enquiries from volunteers who may be able to offer help, even on a casual, as and when needed, basis.

It is hive of activity with visitors and staff using the facility so you will meet lots of new people as well as learning a valuable skill and providing much needed support to the hospice.
