Volunteer gardeners – Butterwick Hospice Care – Stockton

Description

Are you wanting to gain experience, socialise, make new friends and give back to people in the local community?

Why not volunteer with us?

You can help in our mission of adding life to days when adding days to life is no longer a possibility.

We are looking for your help with multiple volunteer positions available, including:

VOLUNTEER GARDENERS at our Stockton Hospice site.

We are looking to build our volunteer gardening team at our Stockton site – to maintain and develop areas of the hospice grounds for the enjoyment of service users, families, staff and visitors.

There is plenty to get on with, and depending on what you are comfortable with, duties may include,  keeping the area around the hospice tidy, sweeping, cleaning, weeding, strimming, mowing, pruning and planting.

Covering Monday to  Friday, 9am-4pm, the hours that you can give us are up to you – although we would normally be looking for 1 or 2  sessions per week, of around 3 hours duration if possible.

Tools and P.P.E./Personal Protection Equipment, training will be provided as appropriate.

Depending where you will work in our site/within the hospice, a D.B.S. check may be required.

Some gardening knowledge would be beneficial and experience of using powered gardening equipment would be very useful – but, most of all, enthusiasm and pride in your work will be the best attributes you can bring to us.

We are looking for reliable, trustworthy and enthusiastic people that want to get ‘stuck in’ and help out. This may be with others, or individually.
