Red Balloons is a registered charity, relying heavily on low overheads and fundraising to raise vital funds to enable us to support people with mental conditions across Tees Valley. We are not trained counsellors or mental health professionals, what we are are people who have real life experience of a range of mental health conditions, who want to use this to help others. We want to help give our members the tools to be more confident in their own management of their conditions, knowing they have a staring support network to catch them if they fully.
We run a range of support services with our brilliant volunteers. We have grown massively since being founded in 2017 and we are well-regarded and have a high profile in the area. Our Board is great and if you were to join it, you would make an important contribution to the governance of Red balloons. You would also have the opportunity to see at first hand how we make a big difference to the lives of hundreds of people. We love doing this and our Board is a key part of our team.

The main thing is that you want to support Red Balloons! A knowledge of charity governance, finance, IT, HR or marketing would be good, but the key thing is that you are enthusiastic about an organisation that supports people with mental health conditions
Only that you want to volunteer to support us
Board meetings take place every two months for 1-2 hours. We can be flexible about the time of meetings, to suit Board members preferences. If you would like to be more involved, perhaps volunteering to support our clients, that would be great but not essential.
