Thrive is an award winning organisation working in Teesside, aiming to close the gap between the rich and the poor by supporting low-income communities to enact change. We do this through research, mentor support, and by taking local and national action: bringing together people and institutions, and supporting them to take action and campaign for social justice.
Thrive are led by those with lived experience of poverty and low income. We have an ethos of nothing about us, without us, is for us, and we believe that the people who are most affected by government policies should have a seat at the table in decision-making processes.
Thrive are collaborators, and we believe that the most effective change can be made when working in solidarity with other groups and organisations. Some of our current campaigns focus on issues such as raising child benefits, debt deduction, and closing the digital divide.
We are looking for new trustees to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the vital work which Thrive does, and help shape our future.

If you would like to discuss the trustee role in more detail, please email our board of trustees secretary Steph Mulrine.
As a member of the board of trustees you will be part of a group of committed and supportive volunteer trustees.
We are hoping to recruit trustees with an interest in supporting the running of the board of trustees. In addition to participating to discussion and decisions at trustee meetings we hope to recruit support for administration and secretarial work associated with the board of trustees.
We are particularly interested in hearing from potential trustees who have skills, experience or willingness to learn, in any of the following areas:
We are looking for someone who shares our values and ethos, who understands that the causes of poverty are structural rather than individual, and who passionately believes that the people best placed to make decisions about poverty are those who are impacted by it.
This is a voluntary role. We would expect trustees to be available for monthly meetings, which currently take place over Zoom with in-person meetings also upcoming.
