Thornaby and Ingleby Trails Volunteer

Description


Volunteers will have the opportunity to: ·

Help to conserve biodiversity locally, with the management of various types of habitat along the route of the trails, including woodland, grassland, wetland and hedgerows. ·

Help to keep footpaths accessible by cutting back vegetation, developing and maintaining paths and steps etc. · Assist with the installation of waymarking, interpretation etc. along the routes. ·

Monitor the condition of the routes by walking the paths on a regular basis. · Carry out litter picking. ·

Lead guided walks or undertake wildlife surveys. Training – to be provided before specific activities or through induction / training events.

Greenspace Team

Practical hands-on work that is tailored to suit all levels of ability. · Working alongside the Rangers and within a team of other volunteers to ensure that works are undertaken sensitively. · Adhering to Council’s Health & Safety policies

Training – to be provided before specific activities or through induction / training events.

Friendly, outgoing and confident.

Good timekeeper, reliable.
