Retail Sales Floor Volunteer


Department: Retail

Location:  Acklam, Coulby Newham, Great Ayton, Ingleby Barwick, Guisborough, Linthorpe, Marske, Norton, Redcar, Saltburn, Skelton, Stokesley, Thornaby & Yarm

Time Requirement:  Flexible to suit you – Our shops are generally open from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday. Time commitment and availability can be discussed and agreed with the Shop Manager. Where possible, we ask that all volunteers commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week.

DBS Check needed? No

Age Requirements: From 14 years old plus

Role Summary:  As a Sales Floor Volunteer, you will be the friendly face that greets customers when they enter our shop. Your main responsibilities will include assisting customers, maintaining shop displays, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and organization of the store.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers on the shop floor and providing excellent customer service
  • Working on window and shop displays to create attractive and appealing presentations
  • Keeping the shop tidy, clean, and well-organised through light housekeeping duties

  • Tact and sensitivity
  • Ability to work alone and as part of team
  • Polite and approachable

Training requirements:

As a Sales Floor Volunteer you will complete the following training:

  • Teesside Hospice mandatory training
  • Volunteer induction training
  • Any other training identified as appropriate to the role

Support and supervision:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be the store manager to support you in your role.

 

Communications:

The store manager will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Teesside Hospice volunteer badge
