Online Retail Team – Sales Research Volunteer


Department: Online shop

Location: Teesside Hospice Trading Office, 410 Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, TS5 6HF.

Time Requirement: Our online shop office hours are from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday. Time commitment and availability can be discussed and agreed with the Shop Manager. Where possible, we ask that all volunteers commit to a minimum of two hours per week.

Age Requirements: From 14 years old plus

Role Summary: As an Online Sales Research Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in maximizing the value of donated items for our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to research various donated items such as cameras, records, books, and other valuables. The goal is to identify their market value, significance and other information for our sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying items and pieces with high appeal to online buyers.
  • Researching rare books, records, and collectibles.
  • Valuing musical instruments, vintage cameras, and electricals.
  • Conducting online searches to determine current market values, ensuring we secure the best possible prices.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy research, have a knack for uncovering hidden value.
