Time Requirement:  Sunday 19th October 2025 8am – 1pm

DBS Check needed? No

Age Requirements: From 18 years old plus

 

Role Summary: Mooch with Your Pooch is a fun and relaxed community event, bringing together dog lovers and their furry friends to enjoy a scenic 2.5-mile walk while raising vital funds for Teesside Hospice. The event starts and finishes at The Mill Pub in Stokesley and includes entertainment, stalls, refreshments, and plenty of wagging tails!

As a volunteer, you’ll play a key role in helping the day run smoothly and ensuring everyone—two-legged and four-legged—has a safe and enjoyable experience.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Welcoming participants and assisting with registration.
  • Handing out event items (bandanas, puppuchinos, mugs, certificates, etc.).
  • Supporting along the walking route with directions and encouragement.
  • Helping to run fundraising activities such as the raffle and sponsorship prize.
  • Assisting stallholders, entertainers, and pet portrait sessions.
  • Providing general event support and being a friendly face for attendees.

 

Personal qualities:

  • Friendly, approachable volunteers who enjoy working with people (and dogs!).
  • A willingness to be flexible and support different tasks throughout the day.
  • Reliability and enthusiasm for supporting Teesside Hospice’s important work.

Training requirements:

  • You will receive a briefing from the fundraising team at the start of the event

 

Support and supervision:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be the Community and Events fundraising team to support you in your role. (Natalie and Tilly)
