Matrix Neurological – Activity Room Support Volunteers

Description

Matrix Neurological is a lived experience led, pioneering charity that helps children and young people living with an acquired brain injury caused by an accident or illness.  We also provide practical, emotional and peer support to their families.

We are looking for several patient, supportive, resilient and dynamic individuals for volunteer positions at our base in Middlesbrough.  You must be passionate about helping people to succeed and have good long-term outcomes, by maximising their skills and personal development through the provision of innovative non-clinical interventions.

These roles are to support learning and skills development as well as the smooth running of our Activities Room for children and young people living with the effects of an acquired brain injury.  You will also provide fun and stimulating therapeutic activities, as guided by the Specialist SEN staff, to assist with physical, cognitive, communication or emotional and behavioural development.  These roles would particularly suit Teacher Training Students retired teachers as you will utilise your existing skills as well as learn about acquired brain injuries in children and young people and how they affect learning.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (EDBS) check and will commence ASAP.

To apply for any of these volunteering roles, please contact us on 01642 989116 to request an application pack.  Alternatively, email
