Kitchen Assistant – Butterwick Hospice Care, Stockton

To support the catering team ensuring a plentiful supply of clean dishes, cutlery and crockery at our Stockton Hospice canteen. Cover is required Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm – so we are ideally looking at a 3-4hour shift morning or afternoon, but we will always try to fit around what you can do for us.

Estates and facilities management.

  • Reporting to the Chef / Cook, or in their absence the Catering Assistants, upon arrival and upon leaving.
  • Rinsing off dishes and filling the dishwasher (as trained).
  • Emptying dishwasher, dry or drain dishes and crockery as trained and re-stock areas.
  • Assisting in the cleaning of the kitchen and catering equipment, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and working at all times under recommended Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • To undertake any other tasks as requested/deemed appropriate with the nature of the role.
  • Please note – a disclosure and barring service (D.B.S.) check is required for this role (we will arrange this with you.)

Some previous experience in a similar catering role and food hygiene kn0wledge would be brilliant, but it’s not essential –  as training will be given.

If you are reliable, friendly, a good team player with sense of humour, you will fit in fine.
