Family Visiting Volunteer


Visiting a family with young children in their own home, weekly. Offering 2/3 hours of support both emotionally and practical help. Standing along side families who are struggling, them may be experiencing;

  • Low mental health
  • loneliness/isolation
  • physical¬†disability
  • debt
  • divorce/separation
  • Asylum seeker
  • Multiple births

Befriending service

Attending a preparation course before being matched to a family,  then the volunteer visits them weekly.

Being a parent or having experience of caring for someone. Knowledge of the needs of under 5-year-olds. Most important is a non-judgmental attitude, a good sense of humor, and kindness.

Reliability, ability to maintain confidentiality. Humor and kindness.

DBS check and two references required with a minimum of a years commitment. All volunteers have to attend a preparation course first before they are matched to a family.
