Ecommerce Assistant

The volunteer will play a role in keeping our
online selling platforms stocked with appropriate products. The volunteer’s
primary objective will be uploading products for sale across the various online
selling platforms utilised by the charity. This will mainly be via eBay but
could also include Depop, ASOS, Amazon and own our website.

With support from our existing Ecommerce
team, the candidate will focus on writing product descriptions/eBay listings
which showcase the item in the best possible light.


Product Uploads


Collate all necessary information required for a
successful product upload (photographs, description, sizing, pricing etc).

Upload selected items onto eBay using auctions and
buy it now selling functions

Upload ecommerce stock to other platforms such as Asos
or Depop as when required.

Undertake product research to ensure accurate
pricing thus maximising financial return of donations.

Update our product database as and when products
are listed so that we maintain an accurate and up to date stock inventory.

Upload a variety of donated items for online sale.
Products may range but will not be limited to; clothing, bric a brac, books,
vinyl’s, antiques and collectables.


Content Writing (product descriptions/listings)


Support the ecommerce team to write effective
product descriptions to promote items for sale as effectively as possible.
Descriptions must be appealing, informative and catch the customers

Undertake eBay research of similar products to
optimise all listings.

Utilise eBay and other platforms listing tools to
ensure we include as much information as possible for the customer.




Additional Key Tasks:

Dispatch- picking and packing orders for delivery.

Ensure listed items are stored in the correct place
to allow for smooth and efficient dispatch.

Knowledge & Skills

§ Previous experience of uploading products to eBay or
other online platforms

§ Keen interest in
online retail

§ Experience of working
in a retail or commercial environment.

§ Strong understanding
of eBay

§ Strong IT and
analytical skills and the ability to make sense of analytical data

§ Excellent project
planning skills and ability to organise tasks

§ Ability to take
simple product photography using a camera phone or similar device

§ Excellent
communication skills

§ Understanding of
different marketplaces such as ebay, websites and Depop.

§ Excellent
attention to detail

§ Strong ‘can do’


General Requirements

superstore bought items, travelling expenses, access to training and
support through volunteer services.

This voluntary
position is deemed to require an Enhanced DBS Check with the Disclosure and
Barring Service due to contact with children and
vulnerable adults across our sites.
