Diwali is a time to celebrate the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair. It’s one of the most joyful and colourful festivals in the world, symbolised by the lighting of lamps, sharing delicious food, and coming together as a community. It’s an event for the whole community, and one that can show how strongly people from different cultures can come together.
We need volunteers between 7am and 11am on the morning of Saturday 2 November, and then between 7pm and 11pm on the same day. You will help to set the event up, putting out tables, chairs, display stands, published material and so on. You might also help direct stallholders to their different sections of the site. And then at the end of the day, you will help to put everything away again.
There is brilliant team-spirit at this event, with everyone working well together to make sure it is a great celebration for the people of Middlesbrough and Tees Valley
