We are seeking co-facilitators to jointly run a support group for people living with bipolar and their family and friends. These groups typically meet once a month for two hours. There is a small amount of admin. Full training is given and is ongoing. Support is offered from your own peer support officer.
This role is supported by the Services Team of Bipolar UK. The role is largely outreach and support work.
The main responsibility is to co-facilitate a Bipolar UK local support group. There is a small amount of administration.
There is ongoing training and a comprehensive induction that is conducted by Zoom. The skills required are being an active listener and a calm presence. There is a need for knowledge of bipolar. This could be gained through personal experience or through supporting a family member or friend.
The personal qualities that are need are being a good communicator and being reasonably well organised.
The time requirement is 2-4 hours per month. There is a need to complete the training and a DBS is required.
