Litter Pickers

Having a litter free park allows the visitors to enjoy their time and enhances the health of the environment and surrounding nature.

Volunteers will
have the opportunity to:

  • Keep the park and countryside free from
    litter for all to enjoy.
  • Engage with visitors/staff who are coming
    into the park
  • ·To dispose of the litter in the correct manner with the equipment provided.
  • ·Report any fly tipping or any other debris that may need to be collected by the Care   for Your Area team

Responsibilities

Volunteers will be responsible for:


  • Keeping the park and countryside free from litter for all to enjoy.

  • Engage with visitors/staff who are coming into the park

  • ·To dispose of the litter in the correct manner with the equipment provided.

  • ·Report any fly tipping or any other debris that may need to be collected by the Care for Your Area team

Knowledge & Skills

No previous knowledge needed as on the day training and resources will be provided however if you have:


  • The ability to work independently.

  • Organised, with the ability to use own initiative.

  • Ability to act in accordance with health and safety procedures.

  • Good level of fitness to carry out main duties.

  • To be able to travel to the park

  • Enjoy walking

Personal Qualities

Are you passionate about the environment and love the outdoors, enjoy working with others and be able to follow instructions? We are looking for volunteers who have a flare for the environment and enjoy meeting people. Good communication and time management would be great.

General Requirements

Ideally a weekly/fortnightly commitment would be great but the times available can be flexible and agreed with the volunteer & engagement officer.
