Stockton Volunteering Partnership

Stockton Volunteers believes in providing the best environment to facilitate volunteering in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees. To that end Stockton Volunteers hosts quarterly forum meetings where volunteer involved organisations (VIOs) come together to discuss, debate, learn and network.

It is our hope that in hosting these meetings we can bring together the many organisations in the Borough that are working hard to make the area a better place, and collectively tackle the difficult issues and changing environment charitable organisations may face.

Previous Partnership Meetings:

Stockton Volunteering Partnership Meeting

The meeting was held at 10:00 – 13:00, 27th July 2017 at the Newtown Community Resource Centre, Stockton-on-Tees.

During the first Partnership Meeting there was an interest in developing a Stockton Borough bespoke Kite Mark for Volunteering. The Partnership explored this idea further at this meeting with a presentation from Abby Thompson – Durham County Community Action, on The Durham County Kite Mark for Volunteering. This also gave a great opportunity to ask questions and understand how Kite Mark for Volunteering has benefited organisations in County Durham.
You can download the kite mark documents and view the presentation here:

We had requests for a ‘speed-dating’ exercise! The idea is that each of attendee gets an opportunity to speak to another person for 3 minutes on a specific issue/subject, then move on to the next person and so on. It was a great and  effective way of sharing ideas and information about your organisation.

For this meeting the subject was all things do with, “Recruitment and Retention of Volunteers.” I.e. innovate ideas for encouraging volunteer, policies to protect both the organisation and volunteer in their management, and strategies for retaining and celebrating volunteers.

There was a short presentation, video and opportunity to discuss the Stockton Volunteering Market, which took place in June, its positives and negatives and how to improve the event for the future, which can be viewed below.
As usual, lunch provided a great networking opportunity for all involved.
