About Ageing Better Middlesbrough - Peer Friendship Project
Ageing Better Middlesbrough is a six year, £6 million programme aimed at reducing loneliness and social isolation for people aged 50 and over. It’s made up of several different projects and organisations working together to support and empower local older people. We collect and share information about exciting opportunities in Middlesbrough and different ways to connect to your community and enjoy everything it has to offer!
The ABM Peer Friendship Project is looking for volunteers who would like to connect with older people who are lonely and/or isolated in their communities. The role is a befriending role and we aim to develop friendships based on shared interests and comminality. We also offer a more practical role for those volunteers who would like to share their skills with indivduals who require assistance with practical tasks. Full training and support is provided and all expenses covered
