About Billingham International Folklore Festival
To help organise and run the Festival we also have the Festival Committee, which consists of people, responsible for various jobs during the Festival, all of which have their own team of volunteers.
Over 150 volunteers help organize and run the Festival every year, without whom the festival would cease to exist. They are a major backbone of the festival structure. The Festival Volunteers work tirelessly as guides, interpreters, meal service, technical arena staff, children's club & youth dance workshop helpers, transport and parades marshals, housekeepers, college work crew, ticket & merchandise sellers, pre-festival leaflet distribution, etc. Ask anybody who is involved with the Festival and they would say the lasting friendships formed amongst International Groups and the teams are second to none and cannot be experienced anywhere else in the UK. A lot of our volunteers book their holidays for the Festival week and even travel from all over the UK year after year to work at the Festival.
We are delighted with the number of new volunteers, who joined our Festival this year, however, we are always looking for new friends to join our festival teams.
If you would be interested in joining or may be finding out a little more about volunteering at our Festival please contact us and we will be delighted to hear from you.
